*Adores dogs and loves spending time with them.
– Owner of Barkers, canine crazy and primary service provider
Barkers was born out of my lifelong passion for all things canine and a burning desire to do something that I love.
I’d spent almost 20 years in the design industry but had always had a yearning to move away from the corporate world and follow my heart. While living in Dubai I began fostering cats and spent many weekends helping at a local dog charity and so my determination to take the leap strengthened. After falling in love with one particular dog at their kennels my mind was made up; I quit my job, adopted Benton (the dog in question) and brought him back to the UK with me, determined to bring the best possible pet care to Salford.
Since then I’ve completed training in Canine First Aid, I am now undertaking a course through the ADTB(Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour) and loving every moment.
– Supporting hand in busier times
Growing up on an equestrian farm meant that dogs, cats, horses and geese were a huge part of my childhood, not to mention our two Vietnamese potbellied pigs Hortense &Elise. I love spending time in the outdoors and the only way to improve on that is to have a dog (or four!) by my side.
*Proud dogfather to Benton and admirer of the more mischievous among our doggie clients.
– On hand and eager when extra home boarding is needed
I’ve had dogs all my life and truly look forward to having Barkers boys and girls to stay for their holidays. I love giving cuddles and am always ready to make my four legged guests feel right at home whether it’s fluffing up their bedding, playing with their favourite toy or filling a kong with treats.
*Dog mad with a very high tolerance for squeaky toys.
– Hole digger, muddy carpet maker
When I first arrived in England things were very strange and I was nervous of traffic noise and the tall groups of dark trees in the park. After lots of slow introduction and reassurance I’m now bouncy and confident; a converted desert boy who enjoys nothing more than rampaging through the woods.
*I’ll do anything for chicken.
